Abstract The Quattlebaums were German Protestant pioneers who helped settle the "Dutch Fork" area of South Carolina (present Lexington and Newberry Counties) in the 1760's. The family has provided South Carolina with political leaders, engineers, soldiers, teachers, farmers, and executives for more than 200 years.
