Series Description From the Series: The Constituent Correspondence Series is a continuation of the Correspondence Management System (CMS) Series and covers the period from 1989 until the Senator’s retirement in 2002. Most of the material in this series consists of correspondence from constituents with Senator Thurmond’s response. Scope and Content Note These materials include letters, memorandums, reports, testimonies, and articles from magazines and newspapers. Some of these materials were also used to draft speeches and statements for the Senate floor and other speaking engagements. In addition, there are voting records which were used to keep track of legislation.
