The material in the series was created as part of Everhardt’s duties as an engineer with the Southeastern Regional Office (SERO), as Regional Chief of Maintenance for the Southwestern Regional Office (SWRO), as Assistant Superintendent of Yellowstone National Park, and as Superintendent of Grand Teton National Park. The SERO and SWRO files deal mainly with construction and maintenance projects at various parks under each Office’s jurisdiction. Similar concerns files are a part of Yellowstone National Park material as well as files relating to budgets, environmental issues, land acquisition, and conditions in the park. The Grand Teton material includes files relating to environmental matters in the park, land acquisition and management, planning and evaluation, and public use of the park. It also contains a small amount of personal correspondence including correspondence with former National Park Service Directors Horace Marsden Albright and George Hartzog, some of which refers to National Park Service-related matters. Overall the files in the series date from 1948 to 1979, with most of items dating from 1962 to 1974. Material in this series is arranged alphabetically by folder title.
