This series consists of brochures, correspondence, memoranda, and newspaper clippings. It documents Southern Life’s participation in the festival commemorating Greensboro native William Sydney Porter (O. Henry) in April 1985, including SLIC’s sponsorship of a statue of the famed author by sculptor Maria Kirby-Smith. Correspondents in this series include Wilbur L. Carter, Jr., Seth C. Macon, and Louis C. Stephens, Jr.
