The records include the certificate of corporation from the state of South Carolina for the Pendleton Canning Factory, May 31, 1890 and an account book of the Pendleton Canning Factory containing the constitution and by-laws, members, records of certificate of stock and accounts.
The Pendleton Canning Factory received its certificate of incorporation on May 31, 1890. Its principal place of business was Pendleton, South Carolina, and its purpose was to raise or buy fruits and vegetables and to preserve and can them for market. At a stockholders meeting on September 15, 1899, it was voted to sell the canning outfit and the building and lot in order to pay a bank note.
