Douglas Bradbury Papers

 Collection — Box: 1
Identifier: Mss-0324

Scope and Contents

The collection contains oral history and written material related to work done for a history class project completed at Clemson University by graduate student Laura Benjamin. Benjamin interviewed Dr. Douglas W. Bradbury, Clemson Class of 1940 and a member of the engineering faculty at Clemson University. There are two audiocassettes of an interview with Professor Bradbury in which he discusses his time at Clemson as a student and an instructor, the differences in the engineering departments, some of Professor Bradbury's own research and experiences, and historical events like the Soviet launch of Sputnik I and their impact on research. There is also a page of hand-written notes from Ms. Benjamin's course instructor assessing her conducting of the interview, a brief biographical sketch of Professor Bradbury, a list of potential interview questions, and a detailed abstract of the interview itself with corresponding time cues.
