IPTAY (I Pay Ten A Year) was founded in 1933 in order to help support and improve the athletic programs at Clemson College. These records consist of the files of Gene Willimon, who was Executive Secretary of IPTAY from 1950-1977. They include correspondence, 1950-1977; copies of Clemson Football programs during the period, 1964-1976; financial records related to the athletic program, 1950-1977; material on the 1957 Orange Bowl and the 1959 Sugar Bowl; and various IPTAY promotions and events.
The photographs are of athletic and IPTAY personalities and events, including a few from the 1900-1920 period.
The membership records list names of individuals, when they became members, and occasional remarks regarding the membership status of individuals. Some volumes also include financial information regarding the amount of dues collected and changes in addresses of members. These volumes have been microfilmed in November and December, 1983.
The transactions journal for IPTAY records the date of the transaction, the names of individuals, their membership numbers, amount of the transactions, forms of payment, address changes, pledges, and other interactions between members and IPTAY. For the first six months of 1977, there is only summary data on batch money deposits that include the date, the total amount deposited, and number of various activities in the batch. There is an inventory listing the contents of reels.
