This series consists of a portion of the records of the Industrial Management Department. The bulk of records, created by Wallace D. Trevillian who chaired the department from 1955 until 1964, span the years 1960-1972. The records do not contain the correspondence of department chairmen Clinton Whitehurst, 1965-1974, and B. J. Todd, July 1974-1982; their correspondence may be found in Series 55 and Series 56.
The series contains general and subject correspondence, speeches delivered by Trevillian, departmental self-studies, news releases, newspaper clippings from a scrapbook kept by Trevillian, publications issued by the Industrial Management department, and photographs. One noteworthy run of folders contains the report of a space and occupancy study conducted in 1957-1958 of buildings on the Clemson College campus. For a complete listing of the contents, please see the "Folder Inventory" that follows.
