The bulk of the correspondence is that of library directors Cornelia Graham, Gordon Gourlay, Joe Boykin, and associate library director Richard Meyer.
The material in the collection covers the period 1893-1995, with most of the collections dating from 1932-1990.
This collection is organized into five subseries, as follows: Administrative; Committees/Commissions/Task Forces/Groups; Units/Branches; Publications and Ephemeral Material; Memorabilia/Oversize/Collected/Photographs/Audio.
The records are arranged chronologically by series, and alphabetically within each subseries with one exception. Part of the Administrative files are arranged by an alphanumeric code.
Particular topics of interest in this collection are Clemson University Libraries, activities of library committees, library faculty and staff, library automation, construction of library building, and library reorganization.
