The series contains records of the Department of Agricultural Engineering. The records consist of correspondence files, data and reports from research projets, files on farm equipment and machinery, film and audio recordings, publications and records of the agricultural engineering fraternity Gamma Sigma Delta. Research was conducted by professors Clyde Barth, Joe Bunn, Thomas Garner, Barbara Griffin, John Hayes, Frank Hedden, Clarence Hood, Jim Ligon, Charles Privette, Darrell Roberts, Absalom Snell, Richard White, Lyle Wilcox, and T. V. Wilson. Findings of research related to rainfall runoff, watersheds, and irrigation were presented at meetings of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers.

The Department of Agricultural Engineering was changed to the Department of Agricultrual and Biological Engineering in July of 1990 (Minutes of the Board of Trustees, July 21, 1990).
