Washington, DC. Representative Albert Watson (left) and Senator Strom Thurmond (right) both of South Carolina and both former Democrats turned Republicans, get together after Congressman Watson was sworn into the House fro the second time this year. He first took the oath in January to start his second term as a Democrat. After House Democrats voted to strip him of his committee seniority for supporting Barry Goldwater, Congressman Watson resigned from the Party and Congress and won re-election (June 15) as a Republican in a special vote.
