The three account books, which include one "farm account book", record Daniel Pope's financial activities during the period 1884-1919. The correspondence in the collection is between Daniel Pope and William Bower & Son of Savannah, GA, and Liverpool, England, regarding the sale of sea island cotton during 1891-1892.
