Scope and Contents

The collection consists of account books and accounts, correspondence and receipts. The three account books, which include one "farm account book", record Daniel Pope's financial activities during the period 1884-1919. The correspondence in the collection is between Daniel Pope and William Bower & Son of Savannah, GA, and Liverpool, England, regarding the sale of sea island cotton during 1891-1892. The accounts and receipts are for cotton sales and purchases of J.J.T. Pope.
