It documents Southern Life’s participation in the festival commemorating Greensboro native William Sydney Porter (O. Henry) in April 1985, including SLIC’s sponsorship of a statue of the famed author by sculptor Maria Kirby-Smith. Correspondents in this series include Wilbur L. Carter, Jr., Seth C. Macon, and Louis C. Stephens, Jr.
