William B. Johnson, career military man and Clemson alumnus, used expertise and knowledge gained while a cadet in Clemson College's school of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to become an inventor and vehicle design team specialist while in the Army.
This collection contains photocopies of letters to the South Carolina Attorney General concerning the use of convicts to construct Clemson College. A letter dated June 10, 1891 from Johnstone, a member of Clemson College's Board of Trustees, to Y.J. Pope; a letter dated, March 10, 1891 from W.J. Talbert, Superintendent of South Carolina Penitentiary to Pope; and a letter dated, April 14, 1896 from R.W. Simpson, President of Clemson College's Board of Trustees to W.A. Barber.
This oral history interview transcription contains the reminiscences of Major General Jones E. Bolt about his career in the United States Army, 1942-1973. General Bolt, a native of South Carolina and a 1938 graduate of Clemson College, flew combat missions in Europe and, later, in Southeast Asia. He received numerous military decorations and awards for his service. Included with the interview is a biographical sketch of General Bolt, a table of contents, and a glossary of names.

Clemson Professor Joseph L. Arbena conducted a series of interviews between the years 1980 and 1983 as part of research for a 1984 book that he helped edit titled IPTAY: The First Fifty Years. The interviews focus on the establishment and evolution of the IPTAY organization during the fifty year period 1934-1984.
